For the past 9 years, the Hintalovon Foundation has been working to make Hungary a country where every child can grow up in safety, dignity, and wellbeing. Their work includes legal advocacy, child protection, education on children's rights, and supporting victims of abuse. They are one of the most trusted voices for children in Hungary.
But now, their very existence is under threat.
The Hungarian Parliament is expected to pass a new law in the coming weeks that would allow a newly established Sovereignty Protection Office to label organizations as threats to national sovereignty. Being placed on this list would cut them off from vital sources of funding — including public donations, the 1% tax designation from Hungarian taxpayers, and international grants. It would effectively cripple their ability to operate.
This is not a political issue — it's a threat to children’s safety, and to the civil society that protects them.
For the first time, the Foundation is facing the question of not what more they could do, but whether they will be able to continue at all.
We now have just 3 weeks left — until the new regulation comes into force — to raise enough support to keep them running through the next year. After that, fundraising may become impossible.
Here’s how you can help:
Share this campaign with your network — let others know what’s at stake, and that there’s still time to act.
Donate — every contribution counts, no matter how small.
Together, we can make sure Hintalovon can continue to stand up for the children of Hungary.
